Monitoring during construction

At JWG, we understand the critical importance of monitoring during construction and infrastructure projects. Whether you’re managing highways, railways, structures, or geotechnical assets, effective monitoring is essential to detect any movements or changes in real-time.

Highway Monitoring

Monitoring carriageways is vital to detect any deformation or movement that could compromise road safety. Our solutions range from simple, manual observations to advanced automated systems that provide continuous data on carriageway conditions.

Track Monitoring

We ensure the highest standards of railway safety and performance by precisely measuring critical parameters such as alignment, gauge, cant, twist and voiding. Any deviations from acceptable standards are instantly flagged, allowing for prompt corrective actions.

We can also offer Instrumentation & Monitoring (I&M), better known as automated monitoring using total stations. This system provides continuous, precise measurements and includes email and text alerts if any intervention levels are reached. Automated monitoring ensures real-time data collection and immediate notification of any critical changes, enhancing the overall safety and reliability of the railway infrastructure.

All our work is fully compliant with NR/L2/CIV/177 regulations and results are delivered in a clear, easy-to-read Excel spreadsheet, accompanied by an email summary detailing the maximum movement.

Structural Monitoring

For buildings, bridges, tunnels, viaducts and other structures, we provide tailored monitoring solutions that can detect any movement. These solutions are available in both manual and automated formats, allowing for real-time data collection and instant alerts to potential risks.

We deploy advanced survey equipment capable of monitoring both static and dynamic movements. This enables us to capture a comprehensive view of how the structure behaves under various conditions, offering deeper insights into it’s performance and stability.

Geotechnical Monitoring

Understanding ground conditions is key to any construction project. Our geotechnical monitoring services offer comprehensive coverage, from surface monitoring to in-ground systems such as inclinometers and piezometers that continuously track soil movement, water levels, and other critical factors.

Every project is unique, which is why we work closely with our clients to design monitoring solutions that meet the specific needs of their project. Whether through manual inspections or state-of-the-art automated systems, we ensure that you have the most suitable equipment and methodologies in place for reliable, accurate monitoring.
